Food is available most of the day, with home made cakes from 11am until 6pm, Monday to Friday and “Pub type” classics”, sandwiches, jackets, soup and tapas from 12pm until 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Evening meals

Food orders are taken from 6pm until 9pm.  We do two sittings.  The first runs from 6-6.45pm and the second from 8-8.45pm.  If you come to the first sitting, we always allow a nice two hour stretch for you to enjoy your meal, so you will not feel rushed.
It is great to come to the first sitting if you have children as the children’s menu is available between 6 and 7pm.  Also, if you have some other evening’s entertainment lined up, such as a slide show or the gig rowing. Alternatively you could come to the second sitting, when the table is yours for the night.  We have a late license for those having a meal, so that those ordering late will not be sent home early!  We open until 11pm.  The Restaurant commands wonderful views of the sun setting over Samson.  You just can’t beat it!  To book, call us or call in.

On a rainy day.
On a rainy day, why not come and join us for a bit of storm watching and enjoy for the children, connect 5, snakes and ladders and snap, and for us older ones, a game of back gammon or draughts.

On a sunny day.
Why not join us on the beach to tan yourself on our newly enlarged decked area with a chilled glass of our lovely rose wine or a pint of our great German lager, Dortmunder.  Or,
hire on the beach one of our lovely new traditional deck chairs or wind breaks and have a take away ice cream cornet or hot chocolate.  For the children, ride on our cupet car, tractor or play swing ball or twister!

Wi-Fi

Free wi-fi access for our patrons.

Cheap beer!
Carlsberg £2.20 a pint, Dortmunder (lovely German lager 5%) and Old Speckled Hen Bitter (4.9%) only £2.85 a pint.

Coffee
Our coffee is superb.  Supplied by lavAzza – “Italy’s favourite coffee” – the tierra range is exclusive to us.  Described as an “excellent blend made of 100% washed Arabica coffee exclusively from three coffee-growing communities in Honduras, Peru and Columbia.  LavAzza;  Tierra!”  We also supply fair trade tea, “builders tea” and a good range of herbal teas.

License
The Restaurant is fully licensed, with an excellent selection of beers, wines and spirits.  Also, a fine selection of champagne and an exclusive selection of wines to suit all tastes from around the world.  We also have on tap Old Speckled Hen and an excellent German lager, Dortmunder.  It is free of preservatives but with a full-bodied taste and is 5%!  It makes the sun shine that bit brighter and the sea look that bit bluer in the late afternoon!  This year we are offering a cheaper alternative of lager: Carlsberg at £2.20

Weddings/Special Occasions
We are open for functions;  Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries and parties.  Book the whole Restaurant if you like.  Call Charlie to discuss.

Children
Children are welcome at all times and in all shapes and sizes!  We have a special children’s menu available for those under 14 at lunch time and from 6 until 7pm in the evenings.
As parents, you can have the opportunity to enjoy a drink whilst your children play safely on the beach within eye contact.  What a relief not to have to tie them down to their chair, and hope that they do not wail and upset anyone!!!  We know the feeling well!!!  You can order your food and drink, a glass of chilled wine or cool, refreshing beer, send them to the beach, and simply call them to the table when their food/drink is available.  We are doing a meal deal for children, from 12 until 4pm and 6 until 7pm, Monday to Friday day and night and Sunday evening.  They can have sausages, chips and peas or fish fingers, chips and peas or cheesy pasta and an orange or apple juice and a vanilla, strawberry or chocolate ice cream or cornet with a flake for just £5.50.

Lobster

Facilities
Inside the Restaurant we can seat 34 people at one sitting.  The decked area outside has also now been extended and seats around 20 people.  It extends out over the beach, and on a high tide, the sea will be lapping under your feet!  It also now allows for disabled access to the side, and the steps have been moved to the side to allow for that.

Disabled people
We have disabled facilities, including wheel chair access to all of the lower level of the Restaurant, and the decked area, as well as a disabled, unisex toilet.

The Restaurant design
We have tried to maintain the boat shed feel.  It has hard wood flooring throughout, with a split level to give the best view of the Harbour and other islands from all tables.  Every table has a lovely view of the beach, harbour and the island of Samson, Bryher and Tresco.  Also, a bar area to the rear.  To the front, the Restaurant has glass concertina doors, which are open on a gorgeous sunny day, leaving the Restaurant open-aired, and closed for cosiness on a chilly, blustery day, whilst not impeding the amazing view of the Harbour and the islands of Samson, Bryher and Tresco.

Halcyon Daze
For those of you who know Pete and I, you will be aware that we used to owne and run sailing trips on our catamaran, “Halcyon Daze”.  Unfortunately, having two small children and the Boat Shed, we no longer have time to run our sailing trips.  However, we are very pleased to say that  we have sold our business to a local family, Sarah and Derek Shave.  Derek and Pete were at school together.  They are continuing to run sailing trips.  Please contact them on telephone number (01720) 422061 or mobile 07760 151 637 or ask us at the Restaurant for more details.

Payment Options
Payment options;  all major credit cards accepted except AMEX and diners.  Unfortunately, we are having to charge 2% on all card transactions (as that is what they are charging us!)  There will be no charge for either cash or cheques, so you can avoid the 2% if you come armed with cash or your cheque book.
